Job Description:
Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Senior Director position in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning. The Senior Director is responsible for providing leadership and coordination for the College's efforts in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, as aligned to the College's Strategic Plan and Goals, using the highest of ethical standards. The Senior Director is responsible for identifying and eliminating redundancies in assigned areas, as well as working collaboratively with other senior administrators to eliminate redundancies and ensure effective and efficient operation of the College, including but not limited to working with the AVP of Labor Relations and/or General Counsel to ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements, local, state, and/or federal law, as assigned, participate in institutional management, policy development, college advancement, and strategic planning, assist with the recommendation, implementation and/or revision of College policies, procedures, guidelines and other documents, assist in a confidential capacity in personnel administration and disciplinary procedures, serve on committees, provide the President, President's Cabinet, the Board of Trustees, and outside counsel with confidential information and advice in the performance of duties as a direct College representative during negotiations and contract administration with the collective bargaining representatives of College employees, pursuant to the Taylor Law of the State of New York, all as needed. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area; five (5) years of experience in project management and/or administration; experience with current management system(s) and programs used in Higher Education and/or the related area(s); ability to work collaboratively within a diverse college community; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; familiarity with the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the demographics of the current student body and alumni of NCC; knowledge of contemporary issues in higher education; knowledge of systems used in Higher Education; knowledge and skill in identifying problems, analyzing data, and making recommendations; knowledge and skill in acquiring, allocating, and managing resources; High level of emotional intelligence and energy; excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ability to develop collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administration, and internal and external constituencies; ability to manage and adapt to change; must possess the capability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines while delivering quality results; and strong management skills.
Additional Information:
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's Degree with a specialization in social science, public policy, higher education administration, or a related field, including but not limited to course work in research methods, design, and measurement; experience in institutional effectiveness, assessment, or institutional research, as well as working with the statistical tools of the day and with current best practices of qualitative and quantitative research design and methodology; experience with current management system(s) and programs used in Higher Education and/or the related area(s), including but not limited to Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft, ATS (Applicant Tracking System), HelioCampus, Visio, and Adobe Professional; and/or experience working at an institution of higher education are preferred.
