Job Description:

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Director of Planning to lead our planning, forecasting, and buying teams in a high SKU, high-velocity environment. Reporting directly to the Executive VP of Supply Chain, the Senior Director of Planning will play a critical role in optimizing our supply chain operations, enhancing forecast accuracy, and ensuring seamless integration of planning processes across the organization.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and oversee the planning, forecasting, and buying teams in a high SKU, high-velocity environment, ensuring effective demand planning, inventory management, and procurement strategies.
  • Develop and implement robust planning processes and systems to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and maximize on-shelf availability for a diverse range of products.
  • Launch an integrated business planning process across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, streamline planning processes, and increase operational efficiency in alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, and operations to align planning activities with market trends, customer demand, and business goals.
  • Implement and manage advanced analytics and forecasting techniques to anticipate demand fluctuations, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities in a dynamic market environment.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics including SKU performance, inventory turns, fill rate, and on-time delivery, taking proactive measures to maintain performance levels above industry standards.
  • Lead the integration of recently acquired entities into our planning framework, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and driving synergies across the organization.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in supply chain planning, forecasting, and inventory management in a high SKU, high-velocity environment within the foodservice or manufacturing industry.
  • Expert in IBP and/or SIOP process.
  • Proven track record of success in leading planning teams, implementing advanced forecasting techniques, and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market dynamics, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving performance and achieving key business objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve excellence.
