Job DescriptionJob Summary:Ichor is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering leader to oversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products globally. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient delivery, performance, quality and reliability of products and processes. They help optimize manufacturing layouts, improve product designs, and validate specifications. This leader designs new product flows, enhances the flow of products at existing manufacturing locations, and tests the product manufacturing process. In addition, they help integrate new products into existing manufacturing processes.ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities Include (other duties may be assigned): Provides vision and direction while also developing strategies for growth and efficiency. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Ensures all objectives regarding aesthetics, functionality, specifications, and manufacturability are met. Recommends design approaches and solutions to technical problems affecting factories/suppliers on routine matters and obtains assistance from peers, other departments, and engineering management on critical issues. Coordinates with the various engineering departments to resolve assembly, design, and measurement and/or specification issues. Leads and takes ownership of a design and/or project/sub-projects and ensures accountability for meeting deadlines for relevant design deliverables throughout the process. Leads improvement efforts globally to enhance product and process flow Communicates effectively with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and other cross-functional departments. Leads process improvement teams intended to increase throughput by reducing process time and increasing yield. Employs Lean Six Sigma practices and problem-solving. Interfaces directly with R&D/Design engineering in the design of new components and assemblies. Participates in design reviews, and engineering analysis in support of New Product Development (NPD) projects. Supports products to ensure they meet quality specifications and advisement given is in keeping with internal processes, industry best practices, and meets customer and regulatory requirements. Supports technical processes such as: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), manufacturing process simulation planning/optimization, capacity modeling, Design Thinking, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Investigates new methods of manufacturing, automation, AI, or technology to improve current processes to increase capacity and throughput. Collaborates and advises in the installation of new manufacturing equipment and processes. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functions. Maintains metrics to optimize people, processes, and productsQualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):•10+ years of relevant work experience. •Education: Bachelor's of Engineering (Mfg, Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent)•Strong attention to detail. •Able to work within strict deadlines. •Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. •Experience with Bills of Material in an ERP/MRP System. •Engineering or technical experience within a manufacturing environment. •Experience leading small cross functional teams or managing projects. •Ability to create charts and communicate changes to peers and management. •Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking. •Accurate, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision. •Able to re-set priorities as situations change. •Solid communicator, fluent in both written and verbal English. •Automation•Scenario modelingPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): •Regular use of Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on advanced proficiency. •Previous bill of material experience and product knowledge. •10+ years of experience working within a cross-functional interpersonal environment. •Master's Degree (Business, Engineering or similar)•Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Excellent technical communication skills with engineers and manufacturing personnel •Capable of understanding schematics and models of individual components as well as complete machine assembly drawings. •Familiarity with Change Planning (ECO, ECR, ECN) •Familiarity with lean terminology and ideology •General operations and manufacturing experience What Will Put You Ahead: •Knowledge of Bill of Materials and an Oracle/Agile super user. •Semiconductor industry and material planning or program management experience. •Knowledge of machining, plastic welding, orbital welding, system integration assembly, and testing processes.About UsIchor is an experienced leader in the critical subsystems and turnkey process equipment marketplace.
