Join the V Team Life.What you'll be doing...Responsible for developing and implementing legislative strategy, tactics, and content in support of company goals and positions at both the state and local level for New York and Connecticut.Responsibilities include identifying and influencing proposed state and local legislative activities. Plans and executes strategies and initiatives to reform regulatory and legislative policies to ensure that any state or local legislation has a positive or neutral impact on the company. Responsible for constant interaction and relationship development with members of the state's executive branch, members of state legislatures and their staffs and local municipal officials and their staffs.Plans and executes community advocacy strategies and initiatives including education, and partnership development. Coordinating messaging on issues/legislation and for hearings, legislation, amendments, and votes in the legislature in both states.Keeps management informed of pending state and local legislative activity.Managing stakeholder service escalations through conclusion.Managing external consultants to assist with lobbying activities.Managing all state and local reporting filings with ethics agencies (e.g., New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government and Connecticut Office of State Ethics.Supports wireless and wireline consumer business and network teams in delivery of next generation interactive media, video, OTT (Over The Top) Video, voice, data, cloud gaming, and connected home services via the franchise agreements. ​What we're looking for...You'll need to have…Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.10+ years of high-level legislative experience with state and local government.Knowledge of both telecom and technology legislative policy issues.Knowledge of state ethics and gift rules, Tax Law and Public Service Law.Strong leadership skills including communications, planning, negotiations, adaptability, ethical judgment, collaboration and crisis management. No lobbying bans or restrictions.Travel required:Willingness to travel as needed in personally owned vehicle when appropriate. A Valid driver's license is required.Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more.
