The Senior Director of Admissions, reporting to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Development, is responsible for overseeing the Admissions team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations that align with the institution's mission, goals, and Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. Taking a strategic, data-driven, and student-centered approach, the Senior Director provides leadership in a manner that fosters cross-training and a supportive, collaborative, team environment, which supports student success and retention. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our student body and ensuring the college's mission of accessible and high-quality education.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Leads the Admissions Team in the development and implementation of strategic plans, including the creation of actionable goals aligned to the goals of the college.

* Leads the planning and implementation of strategic outreach for all enrollment efforts including first-time, transfer, and stop-out student enrollment.

* Develops and oversees the implementation of initiatives that generate increased enrollment of new student applicants, transfer applicants, and stop-out students.

* Directs, manages and oversees the student enrollment experience.

* Builds and evaluates a strategic plan to keep newly admitted students engaged between the time of admission through orientation and their first semester.

* Develops enrollment strategies, with the use of multiple data sources including the Power BI enrollment and admissions dashboards, with the goal of enhancing the work of the team to streamline the student onboarding processes.

* Builds and executes a strategic plan for the re-enrollment of students that have taken time off from OCC and want to return, including oversight of the Return-to-Complete program.

* Builds, executes, and assesses, making necessary changes as appropriate, a strategic plan for the enrollment of adult students.

* Oversees the International Student enrollment process.

* Provides direct supervision of employees on the Admissions Team to ensure delivery of high-quality student services during the enrollment process into the college.

* Oversees the Admissions Processing staff and the institutional application, competitive program application and review, and transcript review.

* Creates and maintains departmental budgets during the fiscal year.

* Develops necessary recruitment and admissions skills in staff members so that they can manage work areas independently with appropriate levels of leadership input.

* Provides staff training regarding state and federal regulations on admissions procedures, including regulations related to international students, ex-felons, and residential students.

* Works collaboratively with key stakeholders across campus, in implementing streamlined enrollment processes that reflect the best interest of students.

* Oversees the planning and coordination of first-year activities with the Admissions and Schools Teams including but not limited to: Fall and Spring Open Houses, New Student Orientation, College Student for a Day, Accepted Student Days, and community-based organization outreach/presentations.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* A Master's degree with 7+ years of progressive professional experience in an admissions, recruitment or enrollment services role.

* A Bachelor's degree with 11+ years of progressive professional experience in an admissions, recruitment or enrollment services role, will also be considered.

* 5 years of experience supervising a team or group of employees which may be part of or in addition to the years of experience listed above.

* Experience working with a customer relationship management (CRM) system.

* Demonstrated strong process and project management skills.

* Experience developing and implementing a strategic plan.

* Proven experience in data-driven decision-making.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Professional experience working in a college environment.

* Sales or customer service experience.

* Working knowledge of Colleague software (or comparable student information-based software) and Web-based tools.

* Experience working within diverse populations.

* Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.

* Working knowledge of enrollment processes in higher education and their implications.

* Ability to utilize data to enhance planning and improve processes.

* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Knowledge of principles and practices of training, assessment, and administration.

* Effective interpersonal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

* Proficiency in technology to enhance record retention/access and direct student services.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student and staff populations.

* A leadership style that emphasizes collaboration, team-building, accessibility and open communication.

Additional Information:

* Salary range is $70,862- $88,578, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
