Position Title Senior Director of Student Success and Advising Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as the Senior Director of Student Success and Advising. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in centralized advising, student success initiatives, and retention/persistence strategies. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving our student-centric approach and ensuring the success of our students.

The Senior Director of Student Success and Advising will provide strategic leadership and direction for the design, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive academic advising and student success programs; fostering a culture of student-centered support and promoting persistence, retention, and timely completion; to provide highly responsible academic and administrative staff support to the Associate Vice President for Student Services; and to coordinate assigned activities with other College departments.

Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Develop, implement, and evaluate a holistic student success and advising strategy, including policies, procedures, and programs that align with the institution's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

* Supervise, lead, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff (One Stop Solution Center, Academic Advisors, Transfer Student Services, Spring Lake Campus Services, and Student Activities); establish and monitor employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance reviews; provide or coordinate staff training.

* Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other campus stakeholders to identify and address barriers to student success, promote best practices, and foster a campus-wide culture of student support.

* Oversee the development and delivery of new advisor training, faculty advisor training, student success initiatives, and professional development opportunities for staff to ensure continuous improvement in advising quality and effectiveness.

* Utilize data analytics and predictive modeling to inform decision-making, identify at-risk student populations, and develop targeted interventions and support strategies.

* Manage the implementation of technology solutions, such as degree planning tools and early alert systems to enhance advising and student success initiatives.

* Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, industry partners, and other educational institutions, to support student success and career readiness.

* Oversee the allocation of resources, budget planning, and financial management for the student success and advising department.

* Coordinate assigned administrative activities with those of other instructional units, departments and outside agencies and organizations.

* Participate in the development and administration of assigned budget; forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve supply expenditures.

* Develop and serve on a variety of ad hoc committees and task forces; research and develop recommendations related to the administrative affairs of the department.

* Develop, maintain, and enhance partnerships between and among student services staff, faculty, instructional staff, and administration.

* Develop, maintain, and enhance partnerships with local school districts to explore opportunities for collaboration and support.

* Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or equivalent.

Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the development and supervision of a college level advising and/or student success program.
