Job Summary

Responsible for developing the vision and strategic direction for growing the White Cap private brand portfolio and executes the related product strategies. The role manages the product life cycle across the private brands and works closely with cross-functional partners in procurement, pricing, sales and marketing to optimize the cost structure and ensure go-to-market strategies are aligned and supported.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

* Develops a multi-year private brand strategy and vision driving sales and profitability growth across multiple brands in the portfolio.

* Cultivates and leads a fully integrated team with responsibility for the private brand P&L and building and executing product roadmaps and brand plans across all channels.

* Leads the merchandising organization responsible for P&L management and creating a clear vision and strategic direction across categories and channels. Manage the 4P's driving product and pricing strategy and engaging with cross functional key stakeholders to support the vision and deliver sales, margin and inventory targets.

* Manages a team responsible for portfolio and category strategy. Provides market insights and develops recommendations for optimization of the product and solution portfolio and builds category plans to drive sales and profitability initiatives across business channels.

* Builds long-term global sourcing plans across multiple brands. Designs and develops global sourcing capabilities that support the long-term category goals, mitigating supply risks and focusing on cultivating supplier partnerships.

* Leads complex negotiations on direct and indirect procurement categories utilizing data intelligence, insights and creativity to build compelling win-win outcomes.

* Identifies new online development and revenue opportunities by participating across all business lines on strategy for driving on-line revenue opportunities.

* Grows the E2E merchandising process and operating model redesign to deliver efficiency improvements. Drives out waste and minimizes unnecessary tasks in support of a low-cost strategy.

Nature and Scope

* Problems are complex and may be defined by higher level leadership. Solutions require high strategic level analysis and investigation.

* Drives strategy and methodology and serves as the subject-matter expert for policies and practices. Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines.

* Manages via multiple layers OR directly supervises a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level. Directs budgetary responsibility at the enterprise level or for two or more businesses across the enterprise.

Work Environment

* Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

* Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

* Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

* Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

* Progressive experience in merchandising, private brands and strategic sourcing.

* Track record of building customer centric strategies that deliver strong revenue and margin growth.

* Skilled in merchandising strategy and deployment, building win-win outcomes and gaining trust across matrix organizations.

* Experience building and executing long-term merchandising and sourcing strategies and building high performance teams that are customer obsessed and relentless in driving transformation and value creation.
