Senior Director Project Management

Arialys is a biopharmaceutical company focused on how the immune system impacts CNS health, disease and treatment.

Scope of Role: The Senior Director, Project Management is responsible for the overall accountability and execution of Arialys' clinical and pre-clinical programs and initiatives. The role will work alongside program team leads and functional leads to deliver on program plans, timelines, budget and overall support. The Senior Director will be instrumental in establishing processes and tools, risk assessment, mitigation and strategic planning, with regard to resources, cross-functional plans and timelines across all programs.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for internal project management in support the cross-functional program teams.
  • Facilitate project team meetings, including meeting agendas, minutes, action items and decisions and follow-up.
  • Proactively identify and communicate critical path items to management, team leads and functional leads.
  • Ensure functional activities are carried out according to timelines and within budgeted costs/resources.
  • Develop and execute project plans and timelines; track and manage milestones within the defined scope, time and cost constraints; support coordination and communication between teams.
  • Track progress against team, functional and corporate goals.
  • Create project timelines and workspaces using project management software and sharefiles.
  • Create and curate Sharepoint file structures supporting programs and functional areas.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and Corporate Development to support corporate goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify project issues, including those related to timing, resources and funding, to prevent delays in project milestones.
  • Support overall portfolio-planning and Management Corporate development functions by establishing project standards, templates and processes.
  • Ensure all project team members are trained proficiently in project management and associated tools.
  • Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of global drug product development.
  • Proficiency with common project management tools, practices and methodology.
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities to deliver results to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to think critically, interpret regulations and/or standards, apply them to changes and determine resulting course of actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong alliances internally and externally.
  • Proven conflict management skills.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong influencing skills including negotiation, meetings management, and group dynamics; ability to balance concerns of line management with objectives of cross functional teams.
  • Ability to rationalize both strategically and tactically and be able to present recommendations to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Must have significant experience in Biopharma project management from preclinical through regulatory filings and clinical program evolution. Must thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way, and ability to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (Biology/Immunology preferred) – Graduate degree – Masters/PhD preferred.
  • PMP certified.
  • Minimum 10 years managing cross functional project teams through clinical development programs from early phase through pivotal studies regulatory.
  • Proven knowledge on project management governance.
  • Proven experience managing the financial aspects of project management, including planning, budgeting and reporting in and out of scope spend.
