Job Description:

Perkins Coie LLP has an immediate opening for a Senior Diversity Recruiting Manager. Under the direction of the Director of Legal Recruiting, this position oversees diversity outreach, diversity initiatives and diversity data with respect to law student and lateral associate and counsel recruiting and integration activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform

unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

• Oversee and manage diversity efforts related to law student and lateral associate recruiting.

• Oversee and manage activities related to implementing the firm's strategic plan goals related to diversity recruiting initiatives.

• Serve as the recruiting team representative on the Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Committee (SDIC) Recruiting Subcommittee and provide support, including tracking and moving initiatives forward and developing resources and processes contemplated by the strategic plan.

• Draft summary reports on progress and accomplishments, and measure outcomes.

• Develop strategy and priorities related to outreach to law student affinity organizations and local minority bar associations, and related to relationships with those organizations to advance visibility, programming, and networking opportunities. Manage and implement these strategies at the national level.

• Manage relationships and law student recruiting efforts at HBCUs.

• Develop recruiting content and materials specifically relevant to diversity recruiting efforts.

• Evaluate opportunities to sponsor student affinity group activities and manage related budget.

• Provide oversight for the diversity & inclusion fellowship program, other fellowship-related programs, and related client collaboration programs; develop annual plans, update related materials, and generally support recruiting managers in the execution of the processes each year.

• Manage the diversity & inclusion fellowship recruitment process for the office where the manager works.

• Monitor industry trends and data regarding diversity activities and initiatives in this area.

• Develop strategies and priorities related to outreach and relationships with search firms with regard to diversity recruiting efforts, including but not limited to search firms with a focus on diverse candidates.

• Develop recruiting content and materials specifically relevant and helpful to search firm activities vis-a-vis diverse candidates.

• Create strategies for developing diverse talent pools for current and future lateral needs.

• Track compliance with Perkins and Mansfield Rules, including processes for better identifying diverse candidates and tracking related data; develop and implement strategy for greater internal (practice group and office) support for and compliance with the two Rules.

• Develop social media strategy specifically focused on increasing visibility of the firm's diversity commitment and accomplishments and deliver that content to law student and prospective lateral applicant pool.

• Coordinate and deliver training and review and adjust processes specifically to address diversity in recruiting, including training related to reviewing resumes and application materials, interviewing candidates, and discussing and making decisions regarding candidates.

• Consult on long-term solutions to data management related to diversity recruiting, including tracking applicant diversity data through Workday recruiting.

• Monitor and report best practices related to diversity recruiting in the marketplace.

• Develop strategies and priorities related to integration of diverse associates into the firm.

• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Workday applicant tracking system is preferred.

Education & Experience:

• Requires bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years of manager-level experience in attorney recruiting, attorney professional development, or relevant field, including working collaboratively in a multi-office law firm.

• Extensive familiarity and experience with DEI efforts within a large organization.

• Experience overseeing law school fall recruiting, summer associate programs, lateral associate recruiting, and new attorney pre-arrival and integration activities.

• Experience developing policies related to above areas of responsibility.

• Experience recruiting for multiple and different legal markets is helpful.

• Experience in law school career services is beneficial.

• J.D. and legal practice experience is beneficial.

This position may be filled in the following location(s). The compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

Los Angeles compensation range: $129,490 to $202,200 annually

San Diego compensation range: $127,850 to $199,630 annually

New York compensation range: $129,020 to $201,470 annually

Washington D.C. compensation range: $126,670 to $197,800 annually
