Schendt Engineering Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Licensed Professional Engineer) with the ability to design and manage projects. In this position, you get to work on everything from low and medium voltage design and implementation to guiding and facilitating customer interaction. We are a fast-paced environment which means that most of the time you will work on several projects simultaneously. Some local and state travel is required for you to perform field investigations, coordinate design requirements, and to build client relations.As a Senior Electrical Engineer, some of your duties will include:Full project design responsibilitiesPower, lighting, and fire alarm designJob equipment selectionFull plan layoutConducting investigative field surveys of existing electrical systemsSpecification writingJob cost estimatingCoordination and collaboration with other consultantsContract administration servicesBuilding and maintaining client relationships Our Ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an emphasis on electrical engineeringP.E. license is requiredDesign experience in building electrical systems including specifying low voltage (less than 600 V) distribution switchgear and panelboards, lighting systems including controls, fire alarm/life safety, and telecommunications. Medium voltage distribution design experience (>601V) is considered a plusMinimum of five years consulting engineer design experience in the built environment, i.e., educational, government, military, commercial, retail, religious, hotel, multi-family, and healthcare facilities.BICSI Registered Communications Distributions Designer (RCDD) preferred but not requiredWorking knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 72, and other industry related standardsExperience with AutoCAD, Revit, Easy Power, SKM, MS Office, and other design related softwareThe ability to climb ladders to access equipment platforms and carry tools weighing up to 25 pounds as part of the essential project site investigative functionsStrong personal work ethic and ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineersAbility to manage multi-discipline projects, i.e., mechanical, structural, and electricalSelf-motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently and perform detailed execution of electrical designCommunicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities Background checks will be conducted as part of the pre-employment processMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordWe are a dynamic small consulting firm known for delivering high-quality design services.
