The Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading technical projects, responding to day-to-day production needs, and providing direction to a team of electricians, controls and instrumentation, and networking engineering technicians.

* Key leadership and execution role for delivering outcomes that are aligned with the business goals, including support of manufacturing and facility electrical systems.

* Creates and executes the long range plan for prioritized controls upgrades for facility and manufacturing production equipment including capital projects requests and implementation.

* Responsible for executing the Controls & Automation workstreams of capital projects that will increase reliability, availability, reporting and monitoring of the plant facilities and equipment.

* Oversee installation and integration of power distribution systems including MCCs and Power Distribution Panels.

* Provide leadership and serve as a technical resource to associates training in the electrical discipline.

* Create solutions and provide guidance to maintain compliance of plant safety regulations such as (Arc Flash Electrical Safety- NFPA-70E; LOTO, Energized Work Permits, Safe Cell Entry). Perform work audits for self and other associates

* Act as liaison and work closely with other departments such as IT for network maintenance and upgrades.

* Design and manage systems for maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) backup files and other software related systems in the plant.

* Subject Matter Expert for programmable logic controller (PLC) and direct programming updates to Allen Bradley PLC ladder programs, connect Laptop Computer to PLC via network protocols.

* Provide leadership through efficient management of resources, synchronization of project management concepts and effective communication to all stake holders are central accountabilities to this role.

* Oversee installation and integration of power distribution systems including MCCs and Power Distribution Panels.

* Develop and implement a robust pipeline of automation technology to improve productivity KPI's.

What you'll need to be successful:

* Bachelor's Degree, Engineering or closely related discipline, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 5+ years of applicable engineering, IT, and/or operational experience. Technical experience may contribute towards the desired education.

* 15+ years of experience preferred

* Electrical Engineer or Electrician with PLC programming and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment with project experience. Lead and Coach in a TPM/Lean environment and utilize practical problem solving.

* Demonstrated competence in controls engineering or maintenance experience

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $96,800.00 - $113,900.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
