Position Overview:Lead and manage critical systems engineering projects. Develop innovative solutions for complex challenges. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the success of the firm by setting high standards for design excellence and client satisfaction.Technical Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design: Lead the design, evaluation, and code/client compliance of electrical systems, including medium and low voltage power distribution, large scale uninterruptable power supplies, parallel back-up power generation, fuel cells, battery systems, harmonic mitigation, grounding, lightning protection and short circuit/arc-flash analysis.
- Complex Electrical Designs: Leverage your intimate understanding of complex electrical system designs prevalent with both enterprise and hyperscale colocation data centers as a primary focus.
- Concept Development: Develop and assess system concepts for optimal design solutions aligned with project requirements.
- Detailed Design: Create precise electrical design drawings and specifications, incorporating equipment selection and layout throughout the project lifecycle.
- Systems Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of electrical systems, generating reports, studies, and cost estimates, and provide technical guidance to the project team.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection engineers as well as structural engineers, architects, and other members of a design team to seamlessly integrate building designs.
- Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, designers, BIM/Revit technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient project execution.
- Client Interface: Engage with clients to discuss design approach, design changes, constructability challenges, value engineering and construction progression/challenges.
- Distribution and Coordination: Oversee the distribution of approved drawings and specifications, coordinating closely with other design team members for effective integration.
- Collaboration: Foster collaboration with construction project managers, commissioning agents, fabrication teams, and installation crews, playing a pivotal role as a key team member.
- Project Management: Attend design team meetings, manage design manpower budgets, and provide updates to reflect scope changes. Write proposals and add service requests at the request of the project Partner in charge.
General Responsibilities:
- Geographic Scope: Work on projects in both North America and Latin America, requiring travel to client sites, conferences, etc.
- Team Management: Manage the internal electrical critical systems group, ensuring project execution, technical oversight, and external client/account management.
- Professional Representation: Represent the company professionally in interactions with owners, architects, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Mentorship: Assist in the firm's human resource efforts by providing training and mentorship to junior electrical team members.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, leadership, and business development to contribute to the firm's growth and success.
- Flexibility: Adapt to flexible responsibilities and consistently set and meet project goals and deadlines.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and developments to meet and exceed client expectations
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the firm.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of experience as an engineer specializing in electrical systems design associated with large scale critical systems
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Revit by Autodesk and SKM Tools required. Experience with Deltek Vision or Project Resource Management software is desired.
- Licensure/Certifications: PE licensure is required.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, prioritization, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, analytical, persuasive, and interpersonal skills.
- Business Development: Effective business development skills.
- Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
