JOB DESCRIPTION:
Scientific and Engineering Methodologies:
* Applies scientific methods, engineering design processes, and statistics to advance project goals.
* Conducts comprehensive literature searches and market analysis to form hypotheses and recommend project approaches.
* Identifies and incorporates necessary changes in products, services, or technical objectives based on market and technical trends.
Business, Competitor, Market, and Customer Expertise:
* Supports business strategies and needs with sufficient business knowledge to assess cost/benefit.
* Develops and drives the technical development process considering customer needs, competitive activity, and business strategy.
* Aligns individual and group efforts with strategic objectives.
Intellectual Property and Documentation:
* Assists in forming and executing IP strategy.
* Writes clear, concise technical reports and documents significant project results.
* Publishes or presents results internally or externally.
Communication:
* Enhances projects with presentations that integrate ideas, define issues, present alternatives, and recommend solutions.
* Develops and implements communication strategies to inform and influence.
Collaborative Leadership:
* Leads projects of moderate size and scope, demonstrating project management and team leadership skills.
* Creates new opportunities and defines programs and risks for implementation.
IFF Culture, Ethics, and EH&S:
* Acts as a focal point for EH&S within the work group.
* Engages in safe practices and uses technical insight to anticipate and address EH&S
The right candidate for this role can be based in any of the following locations: Pryor, Memphis, Gibson City, Remington, or St. Louis. Travel will be required between these locations, as this is role has a regional responsibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Able to travel up to 40% of the time.
* Bachelor's degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or similar field
* Minimum of 7 years in Operations, R&D, or Manufacturing Technology.
* Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading CAPEX, improvement, or similar projects.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics and build consensus across various skill levels and functions.
* Statistical Knowledge: Ability to perform and interpret statistical analyses on datasets.
* Process Safety Management (PSM): Experience required, with a preference for combustible dust experience.
* Production Processes: Clear understanding of production processes and industrial manufacturing, with a preference for food safety experience.
* Matrix Organization Experience: Experience working in a matrix organization, presenting business cases for capital projects, capacity, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Lean Six Sigma Certification is a strong plus
