Senior Engineering Technician (VI)

Contingent upon Contract Award

Purpose:

* Valkyrie Enterprises is looking for talented Senior Naval Weapons Testing Engineering Technician to join our team in Wallops Island, VA. In this role you will be a key member of a dedicated and mission-oriented team of federal engineers, active-duty Naval Officers and Contract staff who work tirelessly to ensure combat capability of the US and partner Fleets. You will be a critical member of the Valkyrie test team composed of the best and brightest engineers and scientists our country has to offer. You will directly contribute to the fielding and testing of missile defense and naval combat capabilities.

Job Description:

* Serve as Senior Naval Weapons Testing Engineering Technician on our test and evaluation team in support of all evolutions related to the testing of SSDS elements on various ship classes.

* Provide expert technical support for Combat Systems Assessments and Training (CSAT), Combat Systems Ship Qualifications and Training (CSSQT), Combat System Operability Test (CSOT), Overall Combat System Operability Test (OCSOT), and other Combat Systems related testing and assessments.

* Experience as a project team leader responsible for personnel, performance, and schedules.

* Answer/assist in providing technical information to support data calls and other requests for information.

Qualifications:

* Must have a High School Diploma and at least 20 years of knowledge and experience on elements of US Navy ship combat systems including Aegis Weapon System, Ballistic Missile Defense, Ship's Self Defense Systems, including Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) system, NATO Sea Sparrow Missile System (NSSMS), Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM), Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS), Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT), and life cycle support.

* Must have at least 5 years of experience with maintenance, operations and testing of Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) combat system.

* Must have experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of naval combat system or weapon systems' functions and operations.

* Must have direct experience of either land-based or at-sea testing of combat or weapon systems, in the development cycle for new systems or sustainment for legacy systems.

* Must have direct Experience developing Department of Defense standard documentation (i.e., test plans, test procedures, status reports, final reports).

* Must be able to work independently, with a team, or leading a team/ task.

* Must have the ability to conduct understand and operate complex naval systems related to SSDS.

* Must have prior experience with SSDS.

* Must have technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, SSDS qualifications.

Desired Qualifications:

* Associates or Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

* Active TS/SCI Clearance.

* Knowledge of UNIX based system language highly desired.

* Troubleshooting and repair of electronic components experience.

Security Requirements:

* Applicant must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

Travel Requirements:

* Position requires travel up to 60%.

Pay Range: $40.00 - $56.66 per hour
