Job Summary:

As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will play a critical leadership role, managing complex environmental projects from start to finish. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in the environmental industry, the ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing technical teams, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. Your role will also involve cultivating strong client relationships, supporting business development efforts, and driving project profitability. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and completion of complex environmental projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical oversight for site assessments, remediation, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure projects meet high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and manage junior staff, providing guidance on technical and project management tasks. Support the professional development of team members through training and hands-on leadership.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, technical expertise, and solutions to meet their needs. Foster strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations. Work to expand the firm's presence in the environmental services market.
  • Risk and Quality Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure that projects adhere to quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and profitably.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the environmental industry, with a focus on managing complex projects, site assessments, remediation, and environmental compliance.
    • Proven experience leading and mentoring junior staff and managing project teams.
    • Strong client-facing experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, manage expectations, and deliver excellent customer service.
    • Experience in business development, including proposal writing, preparing cost estimates, and presenting to clients.
  • Licensing/Certifications:
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
    • Additional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP, or related) are a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical expertise in environmental engineering, remediation, site assessment, and regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on team development and growth.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
    • Proven track record in business development and managing client relationships.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines.
