This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Estimator to be located in the client's office in Journal Square Transportation Center, Jersey City, NJ a minimum of 3 days/week and remote a maximum of 2 days/week.

Your Impact

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Prepares work to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications, and related documents for various disciplines.

* Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.

* Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

* Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

* Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.

* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

* Attend client meetings and contract negotiations in-person at client's office

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

* 7-10 years related experience in transit estimating primarily focused on rail work with supporting/related infrastructure

* Experience in developing, reviewing, and negotiating force account estimates

* Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or related

* Demonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates

* Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software and MS Office applications.

* Able to read plans and develop cost estimates

* Strong understanding of construction processes

* Able to price contract changes and meet with general contractors and subcontractors to negotiate these changes

* Able to demonstrate progressively increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision.

* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, and/or other estimating software applications

* Construction contractor estimating experience

This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Expected Salary: $138,400-169,290
