Heavy Civil Estimator for leading civil general contractorAbout the CompanyJoin one of New York City's leading heavy civil contractors, renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. Their team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, and they are looking for a talented Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to help them continue their success.Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation:Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Collaboration:Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Cost Factors:Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Bid Proposals:Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
- Subcontractor Evaluation:Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Cost Monitoring:Monitor and update cost estimates as project details evolve.
- Budget Development:Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
- Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of estimated and actual project costs.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil projects.
- Software:Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid software is essential.
- Skills:Strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-Oriented:Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Local Knowledge:Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in New York City.
