Specifically, our Employer Relations Team connects employers with students through numerous informational sessions, interviews, 50+ annual career fairs, networking sessions, career treks, social media, student and employer newsletters and professional workshops. As a leader within the Employer Relations Team, the Senior Project/Event Coordinator will support outreach and engagement activities with employers across all industries to serve all students at MSU. They will lead all career event planning and execution, employer trainings and education with emphasis on DEI, sponsorship outreach and marketing to employers and students via digital and print, develop and manage event budgets and analyze engagement via reporting and data. The individual will hire, train, and supervise an Events Coordinator and student intern team. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, plans, and manages all aspects of employer events and employer recruiting activities
- Utilizes the Career Management System and data collection and management tools to develop reporting to accurately demonstrate participation and engagement specific to career fairs and assigned company events to insure desired outcomes
- Consults with employers to develop effective recruiting strategies for sourcing and recruiting students for full-time, internship and part-time employment opportunities
- Consults with MSU departments and CSN staff as needed to ensure event and recruiting processes and goals are communicated and understood by all stakeholders
- Facilitates sponsorship outreach and partnership agreements and manages shared commitments
- Collaborates with Director to plan and host Employer Advisory Committee meetings and manages continued engagement and relationships throughout the year
- Contributes to the unit's budget model and management and monitors, analyzes, and reconciles projected and actual revenue and expenses, and alerts Director of Employer Relations and Communications of any significant anticipated changes in event activity, revenue, and expenses
- Supervises and trains Marketing/Event Coordinator; recruits, hires, schedules, trains, and supervises student, on-call, and temporary employees, and volunteers for events, recruiting activities and marketing, to ensure high quality service and program execution accuracy
- Develops and executes employer training focusing on best practices in college recruitment, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Coordinates, evaluates, and prepares reports on event and recruiting activity; makes recommendations to Director and other stakeholders to maintain or improve event and recruiting programs and outcomes
- Develops and executes student and employer communications and marketing strategy for mock interviews, career fairs and other employer events
- Monitors Career Services Management System daily to filter and monitor requests for event registrations, and company events to ensure they are processed timely and accurately
- Maintains health and safety standards for on-campus events to ensure compliance with University, State, and Federal rules and regulations
- Maintains inventory and orders supplies as necessary
- Oversees vender management for Career Services to obtain required space and materials to execute events and recruiting programs
- Represents MSU Career Services as requested at employer meetings, events, and conferences
- Collaborates with campus partners and CSN staff to plan and support career event programming
Communications/Interpersonal RelationshipsInteracts with:
- Students - to seek opportunities for collaboration and partnerships with registered student organizations and to deliver presentations and programming
- Faculty/Staff/Administrators - to exchange information and coordinate employer involvement in practical applications of applied learning
- Employers/Alumni - to secure internship and job opportunities, market students and degree programs, and to provide consultation on effective recruiting strategies and labor market trends
- Co-Workers - to collaborate in planning meetings, programs, and events and in developing, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives in a team environment
- Career Services Network leadership team - to receive guidance and direction for work activities, exchange information, and help define and execute strategy
