Job DescriptionAs the Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for keeping our zoo in top shape! From constructing and renovating exhibits to maintaining and repairing facilities, your work ensures a safe and welcoming environment for our animals and visitors. Plus, you'll mentor and guide our maintenance team, helping them grow and thrive while supporting the Zoo's mission, vision, and values.Employment Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Non-ExemptStarting Pay: $20.38 - $23.44 / hr (15% Range)Experience Required: Four (4) years of multi-trade field experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the job. Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D. Vocational/Technical/Business school or training preferred.Department: FacilitiesMaintenance ServicesDirect Supervisor: Facilities Manager Supervisory Responsibility: Direct (0); Indirect (0) Primary Work Location: Zoo setting both indoors and outdoors.Certification: Must possess a valid Oklahoma motor vehicle operator's license (within 30 days of hire. Obtain a valid forklift license.Other: This position is safety sensitive. It is subject to pre-employment and/or periodic background checks, to include MVR, and drug testing. This position works around animals susceptible to specific respiratory disease, thus is subject to annal tuberculosis testing. The Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician performs work in the construction, renovation, installation, maintenance, and repair of all of the Zoo's facilities and exhibits to support and model the Zoo's mission, vision and values. Is a mentor to the facilities maintenance technicians.Essential Job Functions An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties: Advanced commercial locksmith duties. Advanced commercial trim carpentry and framing. Electrical, plumbing, welding, painting and HVAC work. Advanced installation of commercial and residential sheetrock, framing and sheet metal. Advanced commercial and residential glass installation, cutting, maintenance and repair. Commercial overhead door, window, door, ceiling grid, animal containment and hardware work. Advanced concrete work, including slabs and finishing, brick, clock, artificial rock/trees and road work. Installation/repair of roofing, flooring, appliances, food equipment, rides, guttering, insulation and pumps. Updates and programs various building electronic opening systems. Advanced material and construction research and estimates. Helps train, lead, and is a mentor to the facilities maintenance technicians. Daily interaction with guests while on grounds.
