ABOUT THE ROLEThe Field Install Technician atHoneywell is responsible for commissioning Honeywell control systems, includingHVAC, fire, and security control systems. These systems are engineered byHoneywell's in-house engineers, installed by electrical subcontractors, andthen commissioned by Honeywell field technicians in commercial buildings suchas office buildings, schools, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers,etc. Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuouslyimprove commissioning practices, specifically reducing commissioning hoursper device and/or hours per system using Honeywell Operation Systemstechniques.
  • Demonstrateexpert knowledge of Honeywell systems and Industry Best Practices.
  • Installpre-engineered software, checkout control systems, start-up and commissionsystems, and fine-tune operations as per customer requirements or jobspecifications. Use productivity tools such as wireless commissioning toimprove efficiency.
  • Troubleshoothardware and software issues, make changes to meet specificationrequirements. May involve re-engineering effort or system re-design.
  • PerformOpen systems and/or 3rd party integrations.
  • Beaware of Honeywell's scope of work and protect financial impact due tochanges by supporting and obtaining change orders wherever appropriate.
  • Ensurethat Configuration Management policy is followed, which involves back-upof all changes on an ongoing basis during installation and final archivingof Honeywell hardware and software on Honeywell Server (ADEPT).
  • Coordinatewith other trades and Customer/General Contractor/Mechanical Contractor,as well as with the Solution
  • Design Center or local engineering, tounderstand scope, hardware, software, graphics, and as-built details.
  • Supportsales/project manager on surveys, application selection, layout ofpotential retrofit opportunities, high-end complex integrated/networkedsolutions, and be able to present to customer/consultants wheneverrequired.
  • Carryout hazard and risk assessments for all tasks according to Honeywellpolicy and regulatory requirements.
  • Keepall required documentation and paperwork up-to-date.

Requirements:

  • 3+years hands-on experience with control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, building automation control systems, or other automation control systems.
  • Experiencewith programming, PC, and general network knowledge.
  • 1+ yearof experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet browsers.
  • Abilityto travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Validdriver's license with a driving record acceptable to Honeywell standards.
  • HighSchool Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Abilityto read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Diagnosticsand troubleshooting skills.
  • Expertknowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, mechanical system operation,and building facilities and automation.
  • Expertnetwork and integration abilities to be able to work on multiple protocolslike BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON, etc.
  • NiagaraN4 experience.
  • Niagaracertification.
  • HVAClicense.
