Job Description:

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing GAAP basis financial reports, operating budgets, and tax returns for tax credit limited partnerships, owned properties, and government contracts. This role will also provide support to the Director of Accounting in corporate accounting and analysis. The company offers significant growth opportunities for this team and overall.   • Process monthly general ledger closing, including adjusting journal entries and updating work papers.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and submit reimbursements.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and perform monthly variance analysis.
  • Analyze outstanding tenant accounts and prepare bad debt analysis.
  • Prepare limited partner reports for tax credit projects.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual audit and tax return preparation.
  • Manage timely filing of corporate and non-profit tax returns.
  • Review project closing documents, construction schedules, and prepare necessary accounting entries.
  • Prepare grant reimbursement vouchers and related journal entries and accruals.
  • Monitor grant budget spending and prepare budget modification requests.
  • Assist Director of Accounting with monthly corporate work papers, insurance, depreciation, management fees, etc.
  • Support VP Finance in specialized financial reporting.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Experience, Education, and Special Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant, property management, and/or non-profit accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced accounting theory and principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
