Job Description:
The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Director of FP&A and will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting, analysis and actionable insights.This person will work withand support the Wholesale channels at 5.11, and will assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, in-depth business analysis, and strategic planning models to help ensure that 5.11 meets its financial and strategic goals.The role will be expected to use its financial prowess to develop data-driven financial models that provide valuable insights for the business to help drive results and improve financial outcomes.This person will be naturally curious, a critical thinker and have an affinity for problem solving.Job Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Support the annual budgeting process through collaboration with cross-functional teams and business leaders.
    • Support the ongoing forecasting process through preparation of detailed financial models to analyze and evaluate trends to better understand and project future performance.
    • Financial Reporting and Support
      • Partner with business leaders to monitor, prepare, analyze, and report on actual performance versus budget and versus forecast.
      • Establish regular meetings with cross-functional partners and leaders to review and determine impacts to the result.
      • Support the accounting close by reviewing variances to identify any necessary accruals or other adjustments to the financial statements.
      • Prepare and deliver financial metrics, financial reporting, and financial analyses in a timely manner.
      • Actionable Insights and Performance Analysis
        • Analyze and interpret financial results, providing insights into key performance indicators and highlighting trends, risk, and opportunities.
        • Work closely with cross-functional teams to perform ad hoc analyses, problem-solve and support decision-making.
        • Use financial systems and data to develop a point of view, providing insightful commentary, recommendations and action plans to initiate corrective actions or minimize negative outcomes.
        • Look for the why a result occurred in addition to simply reporting what the result was.
        • Data Mastery and Integration
          • Work with the Business Intelligence team to develop or improve existing KPI-based dashboards and expand financial reporting, leveraging 5.11 technologies to inform decision making.
          • Develop new and/or innovate current analyses and tools to analyze and evaluate 5.11's performance versus internal and external metrics.
          • Communication and Partnership
            • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and always ready to improve on established solutions.
            • Prepare and deliver comprehensive evaluations, proposals, and recommendations to executive leadership, committees, and other stakeholders.
            • Write and edit clear, concise, and engaging presentations and reports.
            • Consistently meet all deadlines.
            • Perform other duties as responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
              • BA/BS degree from an accredited University in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field of study.
              • 4+ years of experience in Financial Analyst role or similar position, preferably in apparel industry or other consumer goods industry with inventory.
              • Advanced analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
              • High technical acumen, experience with Dynamics 365 and Power BI are a plus.
              • Ability to create financial models and reports/presentations - Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
              • Ability to work independently and be highly collaborative with multiple business functions.
              • Flexibility to perform effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
              • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
