Job Function

Reporting into the Director of Operational FP&A, the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will be based out of the Corporate office, location in Houston, Texas with a hybrid role. This role is a key finance partner to the operations team, providing financial, planning, and analysis leadership to all aspects of manufacturing (global supply chain, planning and production, procurement, and inventory management) for all Advanced Materials plants. This role will report to the Director of Operational Finance of Global Advanced Materials division. Successful candidate will provide a clear link of financials to business performance across the plants. The ideal candidate is driven, resourceful, highly collaborative, detail oriented, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on budgeted EBITDA and Working Capital commitments. Provide clear visibility to financial performance across all manufacturing plants monthly. Drive inventory optimization, cost control, investment decisions and cashflow.
  • Enhance monthly & quarterly internal reporting as well as business updates to Corporate Vibrantz Leadership team. Drive insightful analysis to explain trends and identify risks & opportunities across the manufacturing plants.
  • Support month-end closing in partnership with Accounting, Commercial, and Corporate FP&A through detailed reporting, variance analysis and insights.
  • Responsible for the collection, analysis, and application of operational costs to support the monthly/quarterly/yearly budget & forecast cycles.
  • Responsible for managing overall cost accounting including standard cost development, COGS, labor, overhead, bill of material, variance analysis, and inventory valuation accuracy. Ensure appropriate transaction discipline.
  • Develop and maintain cost models and associated documentation.
  • Understand and maintain variance reserves and expenses including purchase price variance, standard revaluation, usage variances and overhead variances.
  • Own and support capex from initial request to approval process, fixed asset records, and depreciation methodology. Provide assistance to properly capitalize or expense of outlays and all capex reporting requirements.
  • Assist in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures.
  • Provide FP&A support to S&OP process, linking demand to production plans across the plants and ensuring plant managers are held accountable to production targets. Ensure Exec S&OP discussions and presentations appropriately address all critical supply chain risks and opportunities.
  • Indirectly influence the work product of various cross functional stakeholders who support the plant production, inventory management and procurement.
  • Develop effective working relationships, establish and lead key meeting and process rhythms across all functions.
  • Develop deep understanding of industry trends, identify causes of unexpected variances, competitive pressures/opportunities. Analyze data across multiple dimensions (industry vertical, customer, product).
  • Become a superuser of financial tools for BPC, BI, Planful, SAP, IFS, ROSS.
  • Be a custodian of finance systems/data and the first point of contact for the Operations and Procurement team on financial system and/or reporting issues.
  • Fully exploits available technology and drives the organization to embrace new technologies as they become relevant. This could include advanced analytics, data visualization, process automation, data warehousing, etc.
  • Actively identifies ways to eliminate non-value work and leverages automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and articulate a compelling financial position, with recommendations.
  • Adhoc Financial analysis and support business critical initiatives as needed.

Required Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related discipline is required. An advance degree in Finance or an MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years Accounting and Finance work experience.
  • Cost Accounting experience required.
  • Experience with SAP, IFS, ROSS or other similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience working in financial consolidation systems (HFM, Essbase, or BPC).

Preferred Experience

  • CPA preferred.
