ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on levels 100, 101, and 102 - One World Observatory ('OWO') provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views - which evoke feelings of the City's signature pride, hope and determination - including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant.

THE ROLE

The Senior Food and Beverage Manager will be accountable for oversight of financial management, guest satisfaction, training and development, and revenue generation. The role reports to the Director of Food of Beverage or a similar role as designated by the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

+ Act as the main point of contact for the restaurant, and the lead for communicating with other Observatory departments including Culinary, Operations, Engineering, Cleaning, Loading Dock, IT, and Security

+ Oversee day to day restaurant and caf operations including side-work supervision, inventory management and closing procedures including cash handling and POS reporting

+ Gather, summarize, and provide information to VIP guests about the property and the surrounding area amenities, including special events and activities

+ Respond to guest requests for special arrangements or services

+ Proactively handle guest queries, advise guests on menus and beverage selections, ensure satisfaction with food and service, and respond to complaints (including through feedback channels) in an expeditious manner

+ Manage the activities of all F&B managers, supervisors and department personnel as required

+ Evaluate performance, coordinate scheduling of personnel to provide adequate staffing and handle disciplinary matters

+ Ensure all financial (invoices, reporting) and HR/Payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures

+ Consistently monitor product and labor costs to remain within established margins

+ Manage reservation system

+ Create and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the F&B department

+ Provide guidance to guests at One World Observatory including, dining options and general New York City attraction information

+ Provide efficient service and quality products by maintaining positive customer and client relations through effective communication and prudent financial practices

+ Maintain positive client relations, anticipate guest needs, and ensure excellent guest service in accordance with Legends standards

+ Maintain an accurate, up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs

+ Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts

+ Liaise with Operations and Engineering team to ensure the caf, bar and restaurants are clean and well-maintained

+ Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff about daily specials, VIP guests and reservations for that day

+ Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees

+ Foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency

+ Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents (Including the completion of Incident reports)

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

+ Ability to read, speak and write proficiently in English

+ Multilingual preferred

+ Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable; a combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative

+ A minimum of four (4) years of hospitality leadership in a fine dining and casual upscale restaurant

+ Proficient in food planning and preparation, inventory management, sanitation, service standards, staffing and employee management, payroll and financial reporting

+ Able to organize time effectively--appropriately delegating duties when necessary

+ A thorough understanding of food and drink (wine and cocktail)

+ Excellent knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette

+ Ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays

+ Ability to think on the fly and make quick decisions

+ Knowledge of accounting/payroll policy and procedures and POS Systems is preferred

+ Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office suite of software

COMPENSATION

$80k - $90k + bonus and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan
