Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Posted On: Wed Dec 4 2024 Job Description: Description of Duties: Lead the development, enhancement, maintenance, debugging, and testing of ITSMR's custom- built Drug Recognition Expert ( applications. Provide advanced technical support to end-users, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure system reliability. Administer and optimize the Atlassian/JIRA platform for project management and workflow efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable solutions. Lead code reviews, design discussions, and guide the team in adopting best practices. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, reports, and user manuals. This is an onsite position located in Albany, NY with up to 50% alternative workplace arrangement (Hybrid) with supervisor approval after a probationary period. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. 5 years of professional software engineering experience. Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from concept to deployment. Experience with the following technologies: JavaScript (ES6) Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven) SQL RESTful API development HTML5 and CSS Experience in: Version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with culturally diverse teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work on-site in Albany, NY, at least 50% of the time. Preferred Qualifications Experience building mobile applications (preferably with Cordova, Ionic). Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, or Angular). Experience with Spring Boot. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Docker Compose. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Experience working in Linux environments. Experience with Tomcat. Experience with microservices architecture. Experience writing unit tests (e.g., Jest, JUnit). Experience with Python. Familiarity with security best practices in software development, including secure coding, authentication, and data protection. Proven ability to work autonomously, own projects, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
