Organization Overview The Finance Department of the University encompasses the Controller's Office and the Office of Budget,Treasury,and Research Administration. These offices are dedicated to ensuring the integrity of data submitted,recorded,and reported and to providing the highest level of financial services in support of the University's mission in Biomedical Research. Overview The Senior Grants Analyst reports to the Director of Sponsored Projects Accounting. This position will assist with the grants management for the University. Responsibilities The Senior Grants Analyst will be responsible for Serving as the primary Post-Award Finance contact for 15 Rockefeller University Research Laboratories. Establishing award accounts in Oracle Grants Accounting, as well as closing out award accounts. Administering awards in accordance with sponsoring agency policies and regulations, and notifying appropriate sponsors and/or Development with regards to outstanding Grant receivables/funds. Monitoring accounts receivable as well as laboratory grant activity on a daily basis. Perform accounting for grants and contracts including private donor and government funded grants. Preparing financial reports and invoices to awarding agencies. Providing support to Principal Investigators (PI) and administrators through verbal and written communication. Notifying PIs or Lab Administrators of any spending rate irregularities, such as over- or under-spending, and will provide grant expenditure forecasting to PIs or Lab Administrators upon request. Responding to Office of Sponsored Research's unobligated balance inquiries and obtaining a spending plan from the lab administrator as needed, and will serve as a back-up to the Grants Accountants. Investigating and verifying Faculty Transactions upon request from the Payroll Department. Conducting post-award grants management training for new lab administrators. Providing financial status reports to Senior Management on an ad-hoc basis. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required 4 years prior Sponsored Projects/Post-Award Accounting experience in a high volume fast-paced environment Must be proficient in Oracle Grants Accounting (specifically establishing award accounts and entering budgets), Payment Management System, preparing invoices/vouchers and Federal Financial Reports to sponsors Must have knowledge of accounting for Federal grants and contracts, computer proficiency (Excel and Outlook), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with faculty and laboratory administrators on a professional level Must have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications: Educational emphasis in accounting or business preferred. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Compensation Range: Min USD $70,000.00/Yr. Compensation Range: Max USD $85,000.00/Yr.
