Senior Grants DeveloperLocationGrants ManagementWork StatusFull TimeTHIS POSITION WILL BE OPEN UNTIL FILLED.SALARY: $75,193.00 - 93,991.00 Salary USDJOB SUMMARY:Under general supervision, will identify funding sources to support existing and planned City priorities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. Primary responsibilities include the development of substantive grant proposals on behalf of the City of Arlington. This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive review of proposals prior to submission, editing proposals for clarity and responsiveness, and assists departments with timeline/deadline management.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Research, identify all potential sources of funding all possible sources, including but not limited to:a.Federalb.Statec.Locald.Private sources.e.Funding partnerships.2. Coordinate with departments on funding needs and prioritize to match Council priorities.3. Work to establish positive working relationships with funding agencies and entities.4. Conduct all required activities to obtain any funds and/or grants.5. Prepares and completes any and all applications, complying with all requirements set forth in the application process.6. Ensures that all documents, forms, and agreements are accurately prepared and properly submitted in accordance with the established time parameters.7. Attends relevant grant funding training courses and workshops.8. Produces grant and funding presentations for internal or external meetings as assigned.9. Develop a yearly calendar of applications for proposals and track the implementation of grants and assisting preparing interim and end-of-project reports required pursuant to any awards.10. Assist in other activities and programming, preparing for meetings with potential funders and elected officials, and drafting end-of-year reports.11. Manage a master calendar of all grants, report deadlines and submissions, as well as all login credentials to online submission platforms.12. Provide monthly status reports that outline proposal and reporting due dates for upcoming months, and weekly email updates on the status of current projects.13. Secure all required supplemental documentation, including drafting, and collecting signed copies of letters of support and other documents, including memoranda of understanding or articulation agreements that correspond to the project description in the proposal.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Perform high-level professional work related to grant seeking, writing and administration, on a Citywide basis.2. Work closely with other City departments to provide grant writing assistance and to facilitate interdepartmental communication and coordination on multi-departmental grant projects.3. Maintain and develop positive working relationships with all funders, positioning City of Arlington for future grant opportunities.4. Monitor requests for proposals from state and federal entities and create and present one-page summaries for department directors within one week of grant announcement to garner senior leadership's approval to apply.5. Provide technical expertise in determining grant writing requirements.6. Conduct monthly, cross-functional grant reporting meetings and establish systems for department directors to access data from teams across the organization.7. Communicates with the other City employees in explaining and interpreting the regulations, practices, and policies regarding grant application, grant administration, and grant management activities.8. Coordinate and develop exemplar trainings for staff.9. Prepare and submit all compliance reporting related to the competitive grants.10. Assists the City's Partner non-profit organizations with grant application and writing as requested.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures. Knowledge of general principles and practices of providing grant funded services. Knowledge of processes and procedures for implementing and administering various federal and state grants. Skill with garnering grant funds. Skill with managing complex projects within time constraints and coordinating teams required. Skills with research and documentation. Skill in using PC Software including current Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other city employees and the public by oral and written means. Skill with organization and attention to detail. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies. Ability to work independently under general instructions. Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to filing, pulling, seeing, sorting, squatting, standing, stooping, twisting body, typing, walking, and writing. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier. Ability to prioritize deadlines and tasks. Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish unit objectives. Ability to understand mathematical calculations involving fractions, percentages, and decimals. Ability to work within a set schedule.Qualifying Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field. Three (3) years of successful grant writing experience including prospect research, sourcing, developing, writing, and submitting successful private, federal, and state government grant proposalsPreferred Education and Experience: Master's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
