Senior Human Resources Generalist

As an HR Generalist, the role involves key responsibilities essential to the human resources function. This includes managing payroll processing, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. A significant part of the role is coordinating the recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding, ensuring the company attracts and retains quality talent.

The role also encompasses managing employee benefits, administering salaries, and maintaining competitive and fair compensation practices. A crucial aspect of this position is handling employee relations, addressing concerns, and promoting a positive work environment.

Additionally, the HR Generalist is responsible for various related tasks, such as compliance with labor laws, contributing to HR projects, and supporting organizational objectives while focusing on employee well-being. This position demands adaptability and a commitment to both the company's and employees' needs.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the hiring process for non-exempt roles; collaborates with managers on staffing needs, sources and screens candidates, and conducts interviews. Handles new employee orientation and onboarding. Manages necessary documents for staffing compliance and benefits.
  • Responsible for administering and communicating employee benefits, including overseeing open enrollment. Possesses extensive knowledge of employment laws and practices, ensuring they align with both legal standards and company goals.
  • Performs routine salary management tasks, offering wage and salary guidance to supervisors. Engages in career development initiatives and suggests potential candidates for promotion.
  • Addresses everyday employee relations issues, providing solutions directly or through managerial advice. Offers guidance on personnel issues to both management and employees.
  • Compiles and maintains affirmative action plans for the Bank, gathering data on employee activities, job postings, and community involvement to ensure regulatory compliance. Prepares and submits EEO-1, VETS-4212 reports, and other necessary government documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • At least five years of advanced experience as an HR Generalist.
  • HR experience in the banking sector is beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of ADP Payroll systems.
  • Solid understanding of HR laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail. Must maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Proficiency in PC usage, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
