Our employees are valued and the best at what they do contributing to our continued success.Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project documents, developing accurate and competitive HVAC cost estimates, and managing communication with owners, general contractors, engineers, and architects. The Senior Estimator will play a key role in project planning and execution, ensuring that all HVAC-related components are accurately estimated and aligned with project requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of HVAC work and estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Estimate Development: Develop detailed and accurate HVAC cost estimates for a variety of projects, including new construction, renovation, and retrofitting. Ensure that estimates are aligned with project budgets and schedules.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders. Address questions and clarify requirements as needed throughout the estimation process.
  • Meetings & Coordination: Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits. Participate in meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of the project scope, timeline, and any challenges or changes.
  • Project Support: Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, including creating detailed HVAC scopes of work and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks or discrepancies in project documentation and work closely with project teams to mitigate issues before they impact cost or schedule.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency. Proactively suggest improvements to processes and systems.
  • Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC estimating, with a proven track record in analyzing project documents and developing comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, materials, and installation practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and design teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Education: A degree or technical certification in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as LEED, ASHRAE, or other industry-specific certifications are a plus.
