Position Description:We are looking for a Senior Industrial Process Engineer to join our
Water Team. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, a Professional Engineer license and fifteen or more years of experience. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:
- Provide technical planning, process / mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects.
- Participate in positioning and prospecting activities with potential industrial clients requiring water and wastewater treatment services
- Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (i.e. Excel spreadsheet, Biowin, GPS-X, etc.) and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, etc.
- Prepare design reports and construction plans for industrial treatment plants using local and state standards
- Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Document design changes and communications
- Conduct on-site inspections and start-up as needed
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
- Participate in an appropriate industrial professional group as a committee member.
- Publish and present papers at state and national conferences.
- Serve as an active member in the Wade Trim Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering
- Master's degree desired
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience
- Professional Engineer License
- Has served as the engineer of record on portions of the process design on a of minimum 10 water or wastewater treatment plants with a combined value of $50M.
- Experience working with large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities is a must.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water reuse is preferred.
- Experience developing detailed design plans for treatment projects.
- Experience with Biowin or GPS-X process modeling software with demonstrated experience using software on biological process design is a must.
- Expertise in more than one area of wastewater treatment liquid and solid processes including biological and physical/chemical treatment
- Experiences working on water systems to serve facilities such as chemical, petrochemical, refinery pulp & paper, food processing, etc.
- Experience in assisting with sales efforts for large scale projects
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Active in WEF, AWWA, and/or WateReuse Association. Experience in submitting technical manuscripts and delivering presentations at the state and national level
