JMT, currently ranked #61 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.JMT is seeking a Senior Inspector to perform as a senior level inspector, for work within Region 8 of the NYSDOT, in construction inspection engineering work.Compensation is $45.00-$68.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and supervise, in a limited capacity, project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsIn a limited capacity, assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the projectPrepare project inspection reportsNotify contractor of non-compliance and corrective actionPerform field testsInteracts with the general public, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties during the course of the constructionWork on behalf of the Client to resolve construction related field issues.Nonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsStrong Computer proficiencyActive driver's licenseMust successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screeningRequired ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentSuccessful prior experiences with the NYSDOT, preferably with R-88+ years of roadway construction inspection experienceNICET III, ACI Concrete Inspection, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) training and OSHA 10Hr certifications REQUIREDKnowledge and experience in construction techniques, reading and understanding plans and specifications, procedures, methods, equipment and materialsQualifications preferredAssociates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringSupervisory experience in construction management/inspection situationsWorking ConditionsWork is performed in the field, within NYSDOT R-8. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work is conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions.
