Senior Inspector - Division 6 Fayetteville, NC Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is one of the fastest growing full-service transportation consulting and design firms in the Southeast. We specialize in highways, bridges/structures, hydrology, and aviation design. We are adding an experienced Senior Inspector to our award-winning North Carolina CEI Team.
Job Responsibilities - Responsible for performing assignments in assisting Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
- Provide inspection services for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, structures, erosion, traffic and other construction items as dictated by the project, complete reports and forms as necessary and perform other duties as directed by management and/or the client.
- Review application materials including asphalt, concrete and earthwork for acceptable materials and mix.
- Ensure that materials meet project specifications.
- Inspect roadway and structures for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Evaluate structural materials, placement of culverts and structural operations such as foundation excavation.
- Monitor placement of pilings, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill.
- Inspect and monitor traffic control and erosion control devices.
- Perform accurate calculations and computations.
- Complete advanced QC testing and document results.
Qualifications/Requirements - High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Associates or BS Civil Engineering desired.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in roadway construction inspection.
- Concrete, Asphalt, Earthwork Construction, and Nuclear Radiation Safety Certifications required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US with a safe driving record and possess active DMV license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Above average math and problem-solving skills are required.
Physical Demands During fieldwork, the position entails moderate physical exertion, encompassing walking, standing, bending, and ascending stairs or ladders. The employee may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Fieldwork exposes inspectors to various environmental conditions, including but not limited to loud noise levels, dust, dirt, and temperature fluctuations. Inspectors must adeptly navigate construction sites and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures. Pay Range: $25 - $37 per hour
