**ABOUT BUTLER**
Butler Hospitality works with hotel developers, owners, and operators to increase the efficiency
of hotel F&B operations. Butler leases restaurants inside of full-service hotels and transforms
their kitchens into delivery hubs that provide virtual roomservice and catering to nearby hotels
without kitchens. Currently serving over 200 hotels and 40,000 keys in NYC, Chicago, Miami,
Butler will expand to ten markets and over 200,000 keys by the end of 2021.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Senior Interior Designer Manager will lead all interior design and architectural efforts for a
wide range of projects including restaurants, bars and branded concept development.
An expert in hospitality, restaurant, and bar design, interior/design trends and dynamics of the
industry, the Sr. Interior Design Manager will liaise between Butler, hotel owners and brands to
help design the future of hospitality spaces and experiences. This senior manager will lead
design development of both branded restaurant/bar prototypes as well as unique/bespoke
F&B concepts. This role will be critical in interior design strategy, project budgeting,
management and administration of interior renovations. Finally, the Sr. Interior Design
Manager will support the Butler leadership teams in shaping early-stage culture through
workspace design.
Exceptional communication skills are essential with a deep contact list of potential design
partners, specialty consultants and contractors. The Senior Interior Design Manager should be
extremely organized with a demonstrable track record of delivering complex hospitality
projects through collaboration with cross-functional teams including hotel owners, brand, real
estate and operations teams.
The Sr. Interior Design Manager works from Butler HQ in Midtown Manhattan, travels
moderately and reports to the Brand Director. This is NOT a remote position.
**RUN THE SHOW**
Lead interior design efforts throughout project phases, including restaurant/bar planning
and programming, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design
development, FF&E sourcing and specifications, and construction documents for all
projects
Lead the design development of multiple scalable branded restaurant and bar concepts
Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory
agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
Build and sustain client relationships; participate in design interface with clients, team
members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators, both internal and external
Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance Butlers culture for design excellence, elevating
the quality of design throughout the organization
Collaborate with colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and
philosophy
Produce graphic presentations, 3D visualizations, and construction drawings
Assist in business development and marketing efforts, as needed
Support real estate and acquisitions team with interior design/architectural functions of
restaurant and bar development for new build, CapEx and conversion hotel
opportunities
Publish and maintain Interior Design standards, guides, and assets for all branded
concepts
Assist with design market research and report on relevant trends, analysis, and insights
Prepare for scale with deep industry contacts and ambitions to build/lead a team
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**
Bachelors or masters degree in Interior Design, Architecture or similar
5-7 years of professional design, architectural or related experience
Knowledgeable of all phases of the design process
Experience in delivering large-scale hospitality projects from concept to completion
Ability to translate Brand vision into the project and location-specific designs
Ability to work within a defined construction budget
Expert graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
Intermediate understanding of design theories, material, and color
Skilled in 3D design software including SketchUp, Rhino, Revit and/or other computer
design programs (AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Suite)
Client and consultant coordination abilities
Some project management experience is preferred
Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects in a dynamic growth environment
Analytical thinker who can directly link goals with tactics to achieve success/mitigate risk
A tech-savvy and efficient communicator experienced with productivity tools
