CID also provides investigative assistance, intelligence, and information to law enforcement agencies. CID participates in several task forces and intelligence centers. CID also has a Canine Unit, dedicated to interdicting controlled substances and other contraband smuggled into correctional facilities.
A Senior Investigator in OSI CID position is responsible for the daily operations of CID and management of CID staff in their assigned geographical regions of New York State.
