Job Description:

Trinity North American Freight Car, Inc. is looking for a Senior IT Buyer to work from their Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of IT-related goods and services, including hardware, software, and IT services. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of IT resources. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT procurement, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do:

  • Source and procure IT hardware, software, and services in alignment with company needs and budget constraints
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and service levels
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure high performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to understand their requirements and ensure procurement activities support business objectives
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new technologies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, risk management, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and other key metrics to management
  • Generate and present ROI analysis as needed

What you'll need:

  • Bachelors in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT procurement or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of It sourcing negotiation and contract management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in procurement software and CLM tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of IT market trends and emerging technologies

Preferred Skills:

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud experience
  • Experience in a global or multi-national company
  • Familiarity with ITIL and other IT service management frameworks
  • Project management experience
