External Description Audubon is currently seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our team in our Metairie, LA Office. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for leading the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software, hardware, and networks across our domestic and international locations. The Senior Systems Administrator will ensure system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and enhance security measures through advanced access control, backups, and windows system configurations. This position also involves strategic planning, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's technological needs, with a focus on ISO 27001 compliance and global infrastructure management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the maintenance and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization environments across multiple regions ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage and optimize Azure cloud services, including servers, backups, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Implement best practices for resource provisioning, monitoring, cost optimization, security, and compliance with ISO 27001 standards across cloud infrastructure.
  • Administer and manage backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with retention policies.
  • Administer and maintain the global file system, ensuring efficient operation of file storage systems and data synchronization across distributed environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, C#, or other scripting languages to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide advanced support for escalated issues from junior administrators and service desk staff.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize performance and resolve issues related to storage and infrastructure.
  • Work with IT leadership to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures in alignment with ISO 27001.
  • Lead IT projects, ensuring timely completion aligned with business objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior IT staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in systems administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Extensive experience managing Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure Backup Vaults.
  • Experience with Veeam Backup Replication.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas EPC industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware, Microsoft AVD, and Nutanix AHV.
  • Proficient in managing and optimizing Azure environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts: VLANs, routing, subnetting, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Network device configuration
  • Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, and SharePoint Online.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and C#, focusing on automation and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of backend storage technologies and data protection solutions.
  • Experience with single sign-on (SSO) management and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Certifications such as: Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Familiarity with compliance and security standards, specifically ISO 27001.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging technologies.
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure and support for geographically dispersed teams and data centers.
