Job Description:

The Opportunity:

RS&H is currently seeking a Senior ITS Electrical Engineer to support projects based out of our Orlando, FL office, while also considering candidates in the Jacksonville and Tampa areas.

The Senior ITS Electrical Engineer position will include working for the Infrastructure Services group in the following elements of Traffic/ITS engineering:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support on ITS, lighting, signal and Signing & Pavement design.
  • Work with leaders across the firms national ITS & traffic engineering practice to develop industry-best technical strategies and procedures.
  • Supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior engineering staff.
  • Foster partnerships and relationships with other consulting firms to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for projects.
  • Assist in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited university
  • Professional registration (PE) within the field of electrical engineering in Florida or ability to obtain the PE in Florida within 6-months of hire
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with electrical design on transportation infrastructure projects (illumination, signalization, tolling, intelligent transportation systems)
  • Familiarity with communication network topology design
  • Experience with performing circuit design, voltage drop calculations, and sizing of electrical services
  • Experience in Freeway or Arterial Management System designs
  • Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Managed/Express lane experience (field devices, tolling, concept of operations, etc.)
  • Experience with Florida Department of Transportation design criteria and specifications
  • Ability to lead/manage production staff in electrical design
  • Ability to participate in business development, marketing, and client coordination
