Position: Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer (MEP) Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire $120k-$170k USD Benefits: Comprehensive package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Paid Time Off Job Responsibilities As a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leadership role in managing and overseeing mechanical engineering projects, especially within healthcare, aviation, and other critical facilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Project Leadership: Serve as the Engineer of Record on select projects, ensuring quality and overseeing all technical aspects.
- Team Supervision: Mentor and guide engineering staff, conduct objective evaluations, and manage assignments within the team.
- Technical Direction: Collaborate with senior engineering management on training and mentoring initiatives, and establish design standards and specifications for projects.
- Project Coordination: Assign and supervise engineering tasks, maintain coordination across teams, and oversee system design processes.
- Construction Administration: Manage construction-related documentation, including field reports, responses to RFIs, and updates to project documentation.
- Financial Management: Coordinate with accounting on invoicing, monitor project accounts, and communicate with clients as needed to ensure timely payment.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Contract Administration: Prepare and manage project proposals, contracts, and service agreements.
- Reports and Analysis: Supervise the preparation of analyses and reports on system options and building conditions.
Qualifications Ideal candidates will have:
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: At least 12 years in MEP consulting, with a focus on critical facilities, healthcare, and large-scale aviation projects.
- Supervisory Background: Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role, with demonstrated experience in team management and mentoring.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD and Revit, with strong hands-on design skills.
