Title:Senior-level Construction Superintendent | NYCHA Residential HousingClient:Our client is a fourth-generation mechanical contracting company performing large-scale industrial projects throughout New York. For over eighty-five years they have provided a diverse array of services from concept to completion, including mechanical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and general construction. Together, as a dedicated team of professionals, they are committed to ensuring a successful project each and every time exceeding all expectations. Description:Immediate need for two Construction Superintendents to work on-site at NYCHA projects. Our client is the mechanical contractor on both jobs. The construction superintendent will work as part of the field leadership team and will be responsible for the planning and execution of the project. Work with Project Management, Safety and Ownership. Responsibilities:
- The Superintendent is expected to carefully plan the job to keep ahead of ordering supplies and materials, coordinate with the trades, and accurately track the job progress.
- The Superintendent will be client-facing at jobsite meetings and will regularly work with architects and engineers.
- Plan and coordinate all phases of construction from preconstruction to job completion.
- Carefully review plans and specifications.
- Execute weekly work schedule to meet deadlines and budget.
- Provide daily updates to project managers and clients.
- Create and maintain safe job site conditions in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
Job Requirements:
- 8-10 years or more of experience in related work at the job site.
- Strong construction management skills, proven experience working in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical components HVAC, plumbing, boilers, sprinklers, etc.
- Knowledge of NYC codes.
- Proven experience working with various trades.
- Ability to read and understand construction contract documents and drawings.
- Ability to maintain a schedule and deliver a project on time!
- 62-Hour Site Safety card (for the Dept. of Buildings)
- Prior experience with NYCHA projects (or similar) helpful.
- Excellent written and communication skills
Education:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management desired but not at all required.
