Senior Machine Operator
A well-established automotive parts manufacturing company in Morristown, TN, is looking for full-time Senior Machine Operators to join their team.
What youll be doing to make an impact:
- Two shifts available: Monday-Friday 2:30PM-11:00PM or Sunday-Thursday 10:30PM-7:00AM.
- Must be able to comprehend English and follow directions from team leader, supervisor, and/or manager.
- Inspect all safety equipment before production start-up (E-Stops, safety lights, PPE).
- Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.
- Perform minor preventative machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, and all necessary cleaning of equipment and the work area.
- Follow the non-conforming material procedure when found and notify the team leader.
- Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment without direct supervision.
- Responsible for 5S (keeping the area clean and organized) in your area.
- May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
What youll bring to the table:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Casting experience
- Machining/CNC experience
- Press experience
- Hydraulic or pneumatic experience
- Machine preventive maintenance completion
- Communication Skills the ability to read, listen & comprehend, and write & present information in English.
- Mathematical Skills adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Knowledge of measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, understanding metric system).
- Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position
- The employee works an 8 or 10-hour shift, and overtime is required as needed. Overtime may be required with very short notice. The employee is required to stand/walk 8 or 10 hours per shift; and be able to lift 30lbs.
- The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection.
