We are currently seeking a Sr Mainframe Software Developer - Remote Based Position to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida (US-FL), United States (US). NTT DATA's Application Modernization practice is the leading provider of rehosting and migrating of Legacy mainframe applications to the open platforms UNIX, Linux and Windows and the re-architecture of legacy applications. App Mod Services is growing and has an opening for a Business Analyst. We are seeking a senior software developer for UniKixs H-RDB product. As a lead H-RDB developer, the candidate will require expert level skills in mainframe IMS-DB, relational databases on Linux (DB2, Oracle) and COBOL. Product development experience on Linux is required. Responsibilities • Solutions and executes migration of Mainframe applications into software equivalent systems (rehosting). • Uses knowledge of Mainframe technologies like COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, Assembler, DB2, IMS, files, etc to find the right solution to migrate off the Mainframe • Uses knowledge of Unikix or Microfocus software to solution Mainframe rehosting. • Uses knowledge of Cloud technologies to rehost Mainframe systems to the Cloud. • Uses knowledge of CLIST, REXX, PL/1, Easytrieve and Assembler to find right migration solution. • Uses Linux scripting to implement migration glues. • Proposes and implements DevOps solutions on the rehosted system Basic Requirements • 10 Years' Development Experience • Experience with IMS-DB, Linux, COBOL and SQL Additional preferences • Expert experience and ability to understand of legacy and current technologies; expert ability to identify code patterns and understand coding strategies; ability to propose, design and implement migration solutions; Expert knowledge of NTTDS tools and methodology; ability to coach and mentor the transformation of applications, using modern technologies, frameworks, and test strategies. • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent • Demonstrated ability to lead projects or offer programming solutions at an advanced level. • Advanced understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs. • Ability to architect and design modernized systems with new technologies • Ability to identify changes required in the NTTDS tools and methodology to meet a particular solution or customer need. • Familiarity with the following experience in large software projects • Experience on Microfocus / Clerity(Unikix) environment in hosting large and complex Mainframe applications; • Experience with Assembler, PL/1 or Mainframe Infrastructure; • Experience with Java programming and technologies Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $113,000 – $186,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
