Responsibilities: - Manage z/OS z 16 mainframe and components including
- Capacity and performance management
- IODF Management
- zOSMF
- Mainframe network connectivity and IBM z/OS mainframe communications products,
- Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM),
- Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and
- Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)
- Virtel 3270 Emulator connectivity
- Certificate management
- RMF and SMF performance reporting and modifications using workload manager (WLM)
- Create, populate, secure, and troubleshoot IBM z/VM and zLinux subsystems
- Manage the zLinux environment on an IBM z/OS mainframe platform.
- Perform as a Z/vm administrator, performing installation and maintenance of operating system, building and administering virtual Linux severs that run under the Z/vm operating system
- Create/update and debug z/OS parameters using PARMLIB
- Create, update, and debug Job Entry Subsystem (JES2) parameters and statements
- Manage maintenance schedules and apply maintenance and software updates and IPLs
- Plan, create, and update accurate, detailed documentation for IBM z/OS mainframe platform software/hardware installation/upgrades
- Education and assistance of junior level team members
Qualifications: 10 years of experience as a z/OS Administrator. Experience working with z/OS, z/VM, JES2, TSO, IOCP/HCD, Parallel Sysplex, and SMP/E (hands-on product installation).
- Fully understand z/OS services structure, JES concepts, parallel sysplex, Catalog management.
- Expertise in tuning and debugging performance problems for z/OS systems including application workloads
- Perform problem diagnostics and resolution. Monitor system performance and tune when required
- Capable of z/OS Performance Analysis using various tools such as IBM's RMF, SMF, REXX and subsystem analysis tools
- Proficiency in storage management concepts and technologies, including DASD, DFSMS, and virtual tape management systems
- Someone with experience in disaster recovery (DR), storage, replication, and capacity planning.
- IBM Software: Tivoli Workload Schedular, Fault Analyzer, File Manager, zSecure, DB2 Tools, zLinux, OMVS, and IBM RMM.
- Must have extensive knowledge and be proficient in the use of the following IBM utilities;
- TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JCL.
- Someone with experience in disaster recovery (DR), storage, replication, and capacity planning.
