The Work You Will Do:

This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This in-office position is a part of the education team and is responsible for supervising the research and training specialist within the bureau who educate the public regarding the program areas regulated by the division.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing and recommending hires, suspensions, layoffs, promotions, disciplinary actions or rewards.
  • Ensuring training needs are met; approving attendance and leave requests, and performing all other administrative functions associated with the supervision of employees.
  • Planning, organizing and delegating work assignments to Research and Training Specialists with deadlines; evaluating workflows, work objectives and time utilization with Investigation Specialists.
  • Developing and delivering training and education related to condominium and cooperative laws as it applies to compliance with Chapter 718 and 719, Florida Statutes.
  • Organizing, preparing, and conducting condominium and cooperative educational seminars throughout the State of Florida.
  • Designing, developing, delivering and evaluating training programs for in-house staff and the customer call center.
  • Developing and updating the Division's educational materials; maintaining a wide range of general knowledge of the Division and other state agencies.
  • Communicating with management regarding the status and results of the training program, long-range planning and budgeting, needed resources, administrative enhancements, policy needs, and procedural enhancements.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and revision of the Bureau's Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Participating in public seminars and conferences; responding to inquiries from the public, media, industry and other governmental agencies; preparing reports and presentations.
  • Reviewing condominium and cooperative educational programs to be offered to the public by private sector education providers.
  • Performing other related work as assigned.

  • Ability to collect, conduct research, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of training & delivery of services.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university and at least one (1) year of professional or technical experience in training, teaching and/or conducting investigations; OR
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, at least one (1) year of professional or technical experience in training, teaching and/or conducting investigations, and two (2) years management experience; OR
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional or technical experience in training, teaching and/or conducting investigations, and two (2) years management experience; OR
  • Five (5) years of professional or technical experience in training, teaching and/or conducting investigations and two (2) years management experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience in presenting materials to a varied audience.
  • Developing curriculum and/or training materials.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
