The Opportunity

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Manager, Global Procurement Category Management in our Columbus, OH location.

As the Senior Manager, Global Procurement Category Management, you will be responsible for procurement activities for all molded bottles and containers within the Abbott Nutrition segment. As the Senior Manager, you will work closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective category strategies, gross margin improvement roadmap and execution plans. You will nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations. Leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO. Proactively identify areas of opportunity for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies. Provide insight to drive supplier segmentation and align Abbott requirements with supplier capabilities through effective stakeholder management and SRM strategies. Primary point of contact for overall category needs.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop category management strategy for each sub-category. Secure leadership alignment and budgetary resources to support category strategy. Manage GPS cross functional stakeholders, as well external stakeholders (Suppliers) to enhance Procurement Strategy.

  • Global transformation of procurement responsibilities and shift from tactical to strategic mindset. Discover new supplier technologies and innovations that will support sustainability, SRM, risk management and other key Procurement priorities.

  • Develop process optimization global roadmap for Procurement. Secure leadership alignment and budgetary resources to support the roadmap. Process roadmap includes change management initiatives.

  • Work across functions (NPD/NPI, technology, procurement) to solve business opportunities and challenges relating to technology and process. Focus on improving efficiency, addressing non-compliance and working more effectively.

  • As work is redesigned through technology and process improvements, accountable for preparing Procurement and business stakeholders to adopt and embrace change, through robust change management efforts to include identification of change impacts, training, communication, and on-going support mechanisms.

  • Develop strategy to improve capabilities of Procurement organization/function and execute projects in support of the strategy.

  • Accountable for engaging with leadership in GPS and business to build alignment for cohesive and comprehensive category strategies, drive change management and ensure capability building.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA in Economics, Science or equivalent required. MBA is preferred.

  • Successful 7+ year track record within procurement and finance functions and, supply chain with experience in category management, supply and margin analytics.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of project category management and supply chain margin and finance analytics.

  • Experience managing procurement activities in direct and indirect areas of spend.

  • Source to Pay knowledge: Ability to build and learn functional knowledge across Source to Pay processes and global technology solutions and designs.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including program/project management governance.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate orally and verbally to executive audiences.

  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.

  • International business experience.

  • Deep knowledge of markets by regions.

  • Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.

  • Relevant business process knowledge, including procurement & category management.

  • Strong influence and negotiating skills.

  • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.

  • 7-10 years of procurement or supply chain experience in a multinational company with individual accountable business units

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
