The Senior Manager - Business Development will drive the growth of our seafood business. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the seafood industry, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to identify new market opportunities. This role focuses on expanding our market presence, building strong relationships with new and existing clients, and ensuring sustainable sales growth.

This role is remote.

What You Will Do At Acme:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends and potential growth opportunities in the seafood industry.
  • Develop strategies to grow market share using data from customer base/market and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Effectively promote current and emerging products as they become available to facilitate generation and closing of new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for generating new business from new customers through a high level of customer contact including frequent direct customer visits and extensive networking activities.
  • Actively seek new clients and partnerships to expand the company's customer base.
  • Develop and drive strategic sales category management initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including market analysis, sales performance, and growth opportunities.
  • Network and build relationships throughout the enterprise; build out regional markets, retailer relationships, etc. while driving Acme exposure forward.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team, sales account managers, and product development team to develop strategies that ensure Acme's success within retail and food service markets.
  • Provide timely, industry-leading customer support, define, and interface with internal resources when necessary.

About You

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Business administration or related preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, ideally within the seafood or food manufacturing industry.
  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful business strategies and drive revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of seafood supply chain, including distribution and retail.

Your Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
  • Thorough understanding of category to drive retail and food service business.
  • Ability to understand and utilize syndicated data resources.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Work Environment – vary based on role.
