They possess a strong background in engineering and possess the necessary leadership and management skills to effectively establish a technology culture and blending modern Business Agility & DevSecOps practices together with Vodafone's operating model. Responsible for setting goals, defining project timelines, allocating resources, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to quality and within budget. This position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between engineering teams and our business stakeholders, fostering seamless communication, aligning expectations, and driving innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of our customers. Additionally, responsible to drive mentorship and support to their team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment. The role focuses on growing our people, leading senior engineering leaders through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development. This role is dedicated to establishing a thriving engineering culture, delivering solutions, and driving technical initiatives, with a primary focus on building software that enables our customers to connect with Vodafone in a meaningful way.Role Purpose: Responsible for leading the digital engineering organisation that delivers all digital channels (App, Web, Chatbot, Voice & Contact Centres) for Vodafone UK (across all Assisted and non-assisted digital and call centre channels).Building a world class software engineering capability to drive Vodafone's global ambition to become the Digital and Connectivity Champion, with a relentless focus on security, quality and pace of delivery, while keeping our customers at the heart of what we do.The primary contact for the Commercial digital tribes, partnering with business leaders across Vodafone. Active role in GMT relations for all aspects of Digital Engineering and its effectiveness in delivering against the Vodafone UK Consumer & Business strategies.What You'll Do:You will define and drive the vision and strategy for (300+) globally distributed digital engineers across our channels (web / app / chatbot / voice), ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and delivering innovative solutions.You will be accountable for financial ownership budgeting and vendor management.You will execute Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps best practices, embedding behaviours and principles driving a model of continuous delivery.You will partner with Senior & GMT stakeholders of all channels acting as the key point of contact across the business.You will have an uncompromising focus on connectivity and reliability, accountable for operational stability with world class MTTR, error rates and availability. You will own engineering outreach, leading the charge in team marketing and PR efforts, organising engaging coding events, robust comms to amplify VF presence externally.Who You Are:You will have a proven track record of structuring & leading lean engineering teams with an in-depth understanding of the technologies, processes and architecture required for delivering high quality digital products at pace.You will have a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle including multiple delivery methodologies with the ability to mentor, motivate and shape high performing teams across time zones.You will have proven expertise in orchestrating seamless collaboration between engineering and business teams to develop solutions, coupled with a commitment to upholding best-in-class engineering practices for optimal product development and delivery.You will Demonstrate the ability to cultivate and nurture key stakeholder relationships, leveraging effective communication and interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between engineering teams and stakeholders.You will have deep expertise in budget planning and financial management in product-based organizations.
