Our staff have the opportunity to grow their professional skills and work collaboratively with colleagues they admire and respect.About the roleThe Senior Manager of Corporate Relations cultivates and raises funds from companies in support of a wide range of Brooklyn Museum priorities. Working closely with the Director of Corporate Relations, the Senior Manager acts as a primary relationship manager to solicit and steward major corporate gifts for special exhibitions, public programs, educational initiatives, general operating support, conservation, and special projects. Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Director of Corporate Relations to raise funds in support of the Museum's mission and programs, with a particular focus on Education, Public Programs, and Conservation
  • In partnership with the Director, design and execute all fundraising activities connected with corporate giving, including supporting the generation of annual revenue of $2M+
  • Assist in developing the annual fundraising goal for the Corporate Relations team
  • Manage a portfolio of 50+ corporations through all stages of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Complete two-way outreaches by email or in-person with corporate donors and prospects; file contact reports in Tessitura
  • Collaborate with Museum staff to assess hospitality and recognition benefits and sponsorship opportunities for corporations; ensure that sponsor agreements are consistent with Museum policies and practices
  • Supervise the Assistant Manager of Corporate Relations and Corporate Relations Assistant
  • Lead strategy development for the Corporate Membership program alongside the Assistant Manager of Corporate Relations, with a goal to generate annual revenue of $600,000+ in current and new corporate memberships
  • Develop unique sponsorship packages, implement targeted strategy for fundraising growth, and build a strong corporate pipeline through ongoing prospect research, cultivation, and solicitation efforts
  • Work with sponsors to implement complex activations onsite at the Museum and digitally
  • Coordinate event logistics for corporate donor events (e.g. tours, private viewings, prospect meetings)
  • Represent the department at exhibition openings, receptions, meetings, and site visits, and excite the corporate community about the Museum by being a passionate ambassador at internal and external events.
  • Work closely with key departments throughout the Museum including Curatorial, Design, Editorial, Education, Exhibitions, Membership, Visitor Experience, and Finance, to ensure the successful fulfillment of all corporate donor benefits, including employee admission, tours, and external events
  • Remain abreast of current news and trends in the corporate sector
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a professional non-profit development office, preferably in corporate relations
  • Experience identifying corporate donor prospects, creating fundraising strategies (for sponsorships and corporate memberships), and closing corporate memberships and/or sponsorships at the 5-figure level and above
  • Experience supervising a direct report(s)
  • Track record of successful project management and execution of complex projects, preferably in the arts
  • History of working with companies from different sectors, as well as marketing and creative agencies
  • Experience working and building relationships cross-departmentally across an organization
  • Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and writing skills
  • Interest and background in art and museums
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Tessitura, and Winmo
  • B.S. or B.A. degree
