The Senior Manager, Digital Accounts leads assigned categories with an emphasis in the audio space within Disney Publishing's North America digital storytelling licensing & commercialization team. The Senior Manager will guide team members on strategies and proactively drive the results to meet & exceed predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives.
The Senior Manager will report to the Director, Licensing – Disney Publishing, and lead a team of 2 direct reports.
What You Will DoCategory Management:
Accountable for contributing to and implementing the business strategy for digital storytelling and curriculum-based learning categories across The Walt Disney Company Intellectual Property and content buckets including audio, ebook, and video ebooks.
Establishes strategy for responsible categories considering new & emerging business model opportunities, product executions, and improving platform channel distribution.
Develops new business opportunities that are aligned with Disney Publishing's commercialization strategies and return on investment objectives.
Manages own account portfolio including day-to-day relationships, contract negotiation, data management, planning, approvals, submissions, and marketing.
Analyzes accounts, portfolio business, and digital team's performance, competitive landscape, and trends to proactively identify areas of opportunities and mitigations.
Finance and Business Planning:
Fiscal accountability for an assigned portfolio to include long-term and annual budget planning as well as quarterly revenue forecasting – with detailed attention to accuracy and mitigating variances to projections.
Communicates detailed and high-level updates to senior management on account status and managing account budgets.
Builds long-term planning with senior staff on digital publishing business to seek opportunities and value propositions that differentiate and define the portfolio and products.
Product Development:
Guides innovative discussions with the digital creative development team's input to bring compelling and enhanced new storytelling, engaging content, and learning opportunities to market.
Identifies franchise growth opportunities and leads discussions on content needs for partners in preparation for commercialization.
Experience with large, complex organizations, and ideally 7+ years background in the digital space
Ability to lead a team towards financial targets, manage the growth of a category, and creative problem-solving approach
Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, flex with a changing landscape and contribute to ad-hoc projects as the business requires
Extensive negotiation experience and solid understanding of legal aspects of the contractual process
Consistent track record of success in developing and closing deals with a creative business model approach
Advanced working knowledge of digital media, software and online business models, technologies, consumer trends, and media platforms
Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external senior management in a fast-paced, fluid, and multi-project environment
Strong collaborative and influencing skills with the ability to achieve consensus at all levels to meet objectives

The hiring range for this position in New York is $130,800 to $175,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
