The RoleThe Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing and Packaging will lead a team with responsibility for representing Procurement in new strategic business initiatives, partnering with cross-functional leaders to develop the commodity strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, supporting continuous improvement and supplier changes. The Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing and Packaging provides leadership, direction and focus to ensure operational excellence for the suppliers providing finished goods and direct materials within the Kitting and Packaging commodities to the QuidelOrtho plants and distribution centers. Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing and Packaging and their team will lead contract negotiations, have responsibility for cost/quality/delivery/service including supplier controls, productivity initiatives, supplier selection and sourcing projects and overall commodity management, supporting across QuidelOrtho business units.

The ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing the Global Strategy for the Commodity. Identify and progress total cost management strategies, annual continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the commodity strategy & business needs. Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, Product Management and Finance to drive supplier process, quality, and compliance improvements to achieve optimal value, pricing and service performance. (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, geographical footprint etc.)
Responsible for driving supplier selection, serve as lead negotiator for complex, high value transactions including the support of due diligence activities, ensuring all aspects of commercial, operations and supply chain in contract execution, focusing on supplier quality, total cost and performance while minimizing risk exposure. Partner with supply chain, quality and finance teams such that suppliers meet the required standards for financial health, quality management, IP protection, and risk management profiles.
Execute strategic sourcing and relationship management strategies for supply partners that meet their technical and cost objectives while ensuring quality and driving innovation into the business. Such as generating supplier performance scorecards - OTIF, Quality, PPV, leading and facilitating supplier business reviews, supplier capacity tracking e.g. shift patterns, OEE, utilization etc, work to resolve escalated supply issues. Ensuring adherence to supplier management/governance standards including assessment, classification, mitigation and adding suppliers to the Approved Supplier List.
Develop/Foster supplier partnerships across the company. Understand business/operation issues cross-functionally, communicates the consequences to Ortho Leadership and develop proposal to mitigate / resolve the challenge
Deputizing for the Global Procurement Director as required e.g. representing Global Procurement at Business Alignment Meetings, product lifecycle management meetings. Supporting onboarding and providing mentorship for new team members.
Facilitate supplier change notices or material obsolescence with relevant functional teams.
Embraces and participates in a robust S&OP process
Ensures compliance with all government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations as required
Champions Quality Policy and Vision; demonstrates a commitment to quality and putting the patient first ; ensures adherence to Quality System and change control systems
Fostering relationships with all levels of QuidelOrtho's R&D, Legal, GIS, Business Fields Management, Project Management and Regional Marketing to deliver supplier strategies that achieve optimal value, pricing and service performance.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business discipline, Operations Management, Engineering
Experienced in developing and sustaining products in compliance with ISO standards and in an FDA regulated environment.
8 to 10 years Technical / Procurement experience in medical device and/or a regulated manufacturing environment in healthcare or high technology.
Proven track record of managing employees and ensuring delivery of high-quality products on-time and on budget
Knowledge of manufacturing, finance, legal and regulatory and sales.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to concisely summarize complex information and adjust information based on audience.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Power BI.

The Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics are representative of an office environment. Up to 75% of time at desk, standing or sitting extended periods of time. No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required. 25% travel (domestic and international), depending on supply base and business needs
Salary TransparencySalary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including: education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. Salary range for this position is $110,000 - 186,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays.
