Senior Managers have proven abilities in maximizing client satisfaction and service, utilizing their personal skills and judgment, as well as the proper training, development and utilization of other staff members. Senior Managers are responsible for areas similar to Directors, and are potential future Directors, with the distinguishing factor being the degree of success in execution of Director level functions. Senior Managers demonstrate abilities to manage difficult and complex situations, and have a strong track record of technical expertise and quality control skills. They consistently reflect maturity and commitment to their career. Senior Managers provide constructive feedback to other staff members.What your day looks like:
- Directs engagements, which includes the timeline, budget, schedule, and Associates required.
- Reviews and prepares workpapers and work performed by others in the firm to ensure quality control and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Internal Revenue Code, SEC, BESOPs, and/or other professional standards.
- Manages internal job scheduling.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Assists clients with business and tax planning as appropriate.
- Assists with research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Improves specialization in one specific area of the Firm's practice.
- May be responsible for several jobs at one time.
- Assists in training all levels of other Associates in both formal training sessions and on the job training.
- Has substantial interaction with clients.
- Assists in the billing process.
- Participates in proposals and other practice development/marketing activities.
- Responsible for billing and collection for some clients.
- Begins to participate in strategic initiatives of the firm.
- Participates as needed in administrative activities of the firm.
What you need for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
- 10+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation required.
- Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Office Suite.
- ProSystems, Engagement or other related software experience preferred.
- Organizational, and analytical skills.
- Developing negotiator.
- Leadership, interpersonal, supervisory, and technological skills.
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic and a team player.
- Willing to stay up to date through continuing education and continuous reading of professional journals.
- Ability to supervise and train others.
- Ability to successfully perform quality control reviews in substantial aspects of primary practice area.
- Ability to develop and manage client relationships.
- Visible within the business and/or niche community in which they work.
- Developing referral source networks and/or methods to attract new clients.
